Once upon a time I went to design school, and thus love ampersands & colophons.
This site is built using Astro.js and hosted on Netlify. I ported over an 8-year-old Jekyll blog so there’s a few custom routing things going on.
I’m using Aboreto and Gloock for headings, system-ui for body copy, and
Azeret Mono for code. The fonts are all Google Fonts, so they’re free (yayy!).
I’m using a relatively neutral color palette since I’m adding textured graphics. I chose these names for no particular reason, but I do use them in more structured ways by pointing them to component-specific variables like
--card-bg. This makes it much easier to apply theming.
- The hologram effect on the homepage is inspired by the work of Robb Owen
- Adam Argyle suggested a nice link animation improvement
- The Astro.js team is awesome. They helped me with my random questions on Discord 🙂
- You! Thanks for checking out my site
